Model Citizen: Jennifer Mercer


Miss Jennifer Mercer has been involved with the performance industry for over 25 years. Jennifer has extensive knowledge and experience in dance and talent by owning, and operating Jennifer’s Jazz It Up! Studio of dance for the past 19 years. Prior to opening her own studio, Jennifer danced professionally for 10 years. Touring with a band as well as dancing back up for artists such as Bobby Curtola, the Beach Boys and the Hermans Hermits as well as legends, The Impersonators to name a few. She also performed in countless industrial shows.
Prior to dancing, Jennifer also modeled. Jennifer STRUTTed in several commercial runway fashion shows. The highlight of her modeling career was when she was in an international print campaign for Sony, being featured on billboards and posters across the USA. Jennifer’s son Mr. Crosby is now following in her footsteps. He has done many photo shoots as well as some commercials (Soap Box Soaps, and Stompeez) and was in the recently released Stephen King re-make of β€œIT” along side his mother! Now owning her own studio, Jennifer has lead her team to performances and opportunities all over the world. Her dancers have been featured in many photo shoots, performed on Cruise ships and various half time shows including the NBA’s Toronto Raptors.
Jennifer is a strong community supporter. She is found at many community and charity events supporting where ever she can. She believes in making a difference one child at a time. She believes that inspiring and building their self-confidence will help guide them for a better tomorrow. She encourages every child to dream big and wake up and make those dreams a reality. Miss Jen is the epitome of a role model for each and every dancer at JJIU. Her belief in lessons within in the lessons and teaching kindness through action is remarkable. Miss Jen has so much passion for what she does; which is helping to build up strong, confident and healthy dancers within a safe and empowering environment. Miss Jennifer puts others first, which fosters the unique and loving environment. Miss Jen’s extensive knowledge of the dance, performance and talent industry allows her talent the tools and experience they need to succeed and have fun! Her energy and charisma are contagious along with that beaming smile!
