Announcing Public Energy Performing Arts’ 2021-2022 Local Artists in Residence

Congratulations to Nimkii Osawamick, Naomi Duvall, Jen Elchuk and Kate Story on being named our Local Artists in Residence. These residencies are not what you might think: the artists are not literally in a studio or residence provide by Public Energy. Rather, the residencies support a) their creative work on new projects that they undertake on their own schedules, and b) their career development. This is done by providing support from Public Energy staff and a $2,000 fee. The artists will each host two outreach activities aimed at interacting with the public around their work. All of us at Public Energy Performing Arts are looking forward to following their progress over the next year. And who knows…we may see some exciting new performance works from these artists very soon!
