November is shaping up to be great month for art in the downtown. Exciting exhibitions and performance art everywhere you look. ACME Art and Sailboat Company at the Commerce Building, 129½ Hunter St is presenting Paul Oldham’s “Fabrications”. New work, a must see. Joe is having a drawing sale. Limited editions clearance price $20, a steal. Also introducing new copper fridge magnets – someone asked, and we aim to please.
Atelier Ludmilla Gallery, just downstairs from ACME, presents new paintings by Holly Edwards, from her recent Newfoundland experience. Just across the hall, new to the building, is photographer, Heather Doherty. Stop in for her first Friday. Peter Barron and Micky Renders will be showing new work along with Julie Minion on the third floor, entrance via ACME.
The talented Jeff Macklin is having a pop-up paper (posters and books) show at Watson and Lou. Don’t forget Madderhouse Textile Studio upstairs. Check out their exciting autumn workshop lineup. Especially, “Cloth Collage” with Melanie McCall, Nov. 23-24.
And don’t forget Alex Pendengast photos this month at Mikes Tattoo Parlor on George St.
